The Pulse Tap-Tempo: where utilitarian doesn't have to mean boring.
No, tap-tempo switches don't give you massive distortion or sweet fuzz tones — they just work quietly behind all the other guys in your chain to make sure your delay is repeating in-sync. That, of course, is a crazy-important job, and The Pulse performs such duties flawlessly.
Maybe you don't like the 2-second hold you have to use with some delays, maybe you don't like the size of other tap tempos — or maybe you need to use tap tempos on multiple delays, and real estate on your pedal board is at a premium. The little Pulse (1.99x1.99x1.06 inches) fits the bill in all situations, and its super small footprint allows you to place it almost anywhere on your pedal board. The Pulse Tap-Tempo works with delay and modulation effects that accept external tap-tempo and/or expression pedals, like the Strymon Timeline, BOSS DD5, DD7, DD20, RC series Eventide pedals, MOOG, etc.
Housed in a rugged cast aluminum shell, The Pulse sports a high-quality, ultra soft-touch footswitch so you don't feel like you have to "click" a switch to register a tap — you just merely tap like you're tapping your foot along with the beat. Switch is "normally closed." No power is required for operation. Made by hand, one at a time, here in the USA. The Pulse also comes in 9 different colors:
